Kathmandu, Jul 18 (PTI) — In a pair of unrelated incidents, two Indian nationals have been apprehended in Nepal on charges tied to drug possession and carrying undocumented Nepali currency, according to local police reports.
Kaushik Saha, aged 31 and hailing from West Bengal, was detained near the entry point to Kathmandu following a routine inspection. Authorities recovered approximately 3 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
Separately, Mahesh Kumar, a 43-year-old resident of Sitamadhi, Bihar, was arrested in the Gaur municipality area of Rautahat. Kumar was on foot, crossing from India into Nepal, when he was discovered with NPR 300,000 in cash, for which he could not provide a verifiable source.
The police have initiated further investigations into both matters.
