Beijing, Sep 24 (PTI): On Wednesday, Pratik Mathur, the Indian Consul General in Shanghai, honored Mandy Chen, a well-regarded Chinese tabla performer, for her contributions to the arts. Mathur extended his best wishes to Chen for her upcoming series of Indian classical and fusion music performances set to take place throughout China.

Additionally, the renowned Indian sitar player and composer Murchana Adhikary Barthakur from Assam is expected to join these performances, according to a post on X from the Consulate.

This series follows a previous collaboration with the Chaiti Arts Foundation, a Shanghai-based cultural organization dedicated to Indian classical music. Earlier this year in March-April, they hosted a series of performances showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage to an appreciative audience in China.
