India Signs $3.5 Billion Deal To Buy 31 MQ-9B Predator Drones From US

India has signed a 3.5-billion-dollar deal to purchase 31 MQ-9B Predator drones from the United States.

The Indian Navy will get 15 Sea Guardian variant drones, while the Army and the Air Force will get eight drones each of the Sky Guardian variety.

The MQ-9B Predator drones manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is categorised as a high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle.

The drone is capable of automatic take-offs and landings, and can fly for 40 hours at a time at altitudes over 40,000 feet.
