A woman in Brazil has been arrested for trying to use the signature of a dead man to obtain a bank loan.
The horrible video shows a woman next to the corpse of a 68-year-old man on a wheelchair. She takes the man's hand and attempts to sign the bank documents.
According to the police, the incident happened in a Rio suburb on April 16.
The woman, identified as Erika Vieira Nunes, wheeled the man to the bank, although he was reported dead for hours. The woman claimed that the old man was her uncle and he wanted to secure a loan amounting to 17, 000 Real (Approx. ₹2.71 lakh).
In the video, she was seen holding a pen and directing the dead body to sign the documents.
The accused woman was heard saying in a footage, "Uncle, are you listening? You need to sign."
After the bank staff said that the man is not looking in the best of his condition, the woman responded saying, "If you're not okay, I'm going to take you to the hospital," Reuters reported.
“She tried to pretend to get him to sign the loan. He already entered the bank dead,” Police Chief Fábio Luiz said, according to the New York Post.
