In a move that could open up fresh opportunities for Indian workers in America, Canada has announced special rules to attract H-1B visa-holders from the US.

Canada's Immigration Minister Sean Fraser on June 27 said that his government is creating an open work-permit stream to allow 10,000 H-1B visa holders to work in Canada.

Family members of H-1B visa holders will also be provided with study or work permits.

Indians made up 73% of the 4.4 lakh H-1B workers in USA in 2022.
