Kathmandu, Sep 24 (PTI) - In a significant bust at Tribhuvan International Airport, an Indian national has been apprehended for allegedly smuggling gold by concealing it in his body. The individual, identified as 48-year-old Ronak Madani, was arrested on Tuesday after authorities observed suspicious behavior during a routine security check in the airport's arrival lounge.

Upon further inspection, Madani was taken to a nearby hospital for an x-ray examination, which revealed the presence of three packets of gold hidden inside his anus. The contraband weighed approximately 835 grams in total, as confirmed by the Nepal Police headquarters in a recent news bulletin.

Madani had flown into Kathmandu from Mumbai via Indigo Airlines. Following his arrest, he has been handed over to the Customs Department at the airport, where further investigations are underway to ascertain more details about the smuggling operation.
