As Israeli soldiers continue to battle Hamas militants on day 2 of the attack, Israeli media said, the death toll from Hamas' wide-ranging incursion into Israel rose to 600 on October 8.
However, no official statement on the toll was released.
Meanwhile, Palestinian officials say more than 300 people have been killed in Gaza, without differentiating between fighters and civilians.
Notably, the Israeli military has stepped up its presence across Southern Israel, as per AP.
The Kan public broadcaster and Channel 12, as well as the Haaretz and Times of Israel newspapers, reported the toll Sunday.
