Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on the death of four Indians while trying to allegedly cross the US-Canada border illegally.

Trudeau said that a proper investigation is needed before speculating on what could have prevented or contributed to the tragedy.

The PM added that it is too soon to draw a link between the closing of an illegal border crossing at Roxham Road, and the deaths in Akwesasne.

An Indian couple and their two children reportedly died on 31 March 2023 by drowning in the St Lawrence river.
