After reports that a pro-Khalistani parade in Canada glorified the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Canadian High Commissioner in India condemned the act.

On June 4, 2023, a parade was conducted in Brampton in Canada with a tableau that allegedly showed Indira Gandhi being shot and killed by her Sikh bodyguards.

The Canadian envoy said that he was appalled after seeing the reports. Cameron MacKay added that there is no place in Canada for hate or glorification of violence, as per the news agency ANI.

The parade was conducted days before the anniversary of Operation Bluestar in which Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was killed inside the Amritsar Golden Temple.
