Former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has downplayed concerns over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Russia.

Rice said that the US can't hold India to a loyalty test every five minutes and that India-US ties are enduring, bipartisan, and strategic.

She dismissed worries about India's strategic autonomy and said that whoever comes to the White House knows the importance of the relationship.

Rice further said that Modi is aware of the no-limits relationship between Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin and the huge challenge it poses to India.

Notably, Modi, weeks after his Russia visit, met Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as well and has called for an end to the conflict through dialogue.
