More than 100 firefighters were battling a wildfire near the city of Hesperia in southern California.
San Bernardino County Fire Protection District said the blaze quickly burned an area of at least 95 acres and was 0% contained as of Monday evening.
One person was hospitalised with burns.
Video showed flames burning in farmland along Highway 173, and threatening several structures nearby.
Helicopters could be seen dropping buckets of water onto the fire while a significant operation was also taking place on the ground.
