A human rights agency has released a report saying Israel has dropped more than 25,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since its war with Palestinian armed-group Hamas began. Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor noted that the bombs dropped by Israel on Gaza are equivalent to two nuclear bombs.
The Geneva-based organisation said that the weight of the nuclear bombs dropped by US on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was 15,000 tons.
Noting that the area of Hiroshima is 900 square kilometres, while the area of Gaza does not exceed 360 square kilometres, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said that the bombs dropped on Gaza maybe twice as powerful as the one dropped on the Japanese city.
It said Israel has so far dropped 10,000 bombs on Gaza and struck 12,000 targets.
