Peshawar/Islamabad, June 18 (PTI): Six carriages of Pakistan's Jaffar Express were derailed on Wednesday after a bomb exploded near the railway track.
The incident took place in the Jacobabad District of Sindh province, which shares a border with the restive Balochistan region.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, according to authorities.
The explosion occurred near a railway track close to a cattle market in Jacobabad, causing six of the Jaffar Express's bogies to derail.
Following the blast, a substantial police presence secured the area while authorities investigate the nature and cause of the explosion.
As a precaution, train operations on this route were temporarily halted.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
This marks the second targeting of the Jaffar Express in recent months. In March, the train was attacked while traveling from Quetta to Peshawar in Balochistan's Bolan area.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the previous attack, which included a hijacking that necessitated a rescue operation by the Army.
