A Hindu temple was vandalised in Australia's Melbourne on the intervening night of 11 and 23 January 2023, according to reports.

A media outlet called The Australia Today reported that the BAPS Swaminarayan temple in the northern suburb of Mill Park was defaced with slogans.

The graffiti reportedly included "Hindustan Murdabad", "Modi Hitler", and "Sant Bhindranwale Martyr" - a reference to the Khalistani terrorist.

"This vandalism is deeply distressing for Victoria's peaceful Hindu community, especially at this holy time," Evan Mulholland, Liberal MP for the Northern Metropolitan Region was quoted as saying by The Australia Today.
