An American billionaire was found dead in the bathroom of his New York office on 23 February 2023. Thomas Lee is believed to have died due to a "self-inflicted gunshot wound", as per reports.
He was considered a pioneer in private equity investment and leveraged buyouts.
Lee was spotted on the bathroom floor by a female assistant. She called the police and emergency services. They found him "lying on his side" with a gunshot wound on his head, according to reports.
Lee was declared dead at around 11:10 am at his Fifth Avenue Manhattan office.
