After Quetta Blast In Pakistan, Attack On IRGC Base In Iran Balochistan: 5 Security Personnel Dead

5 members of Iran’s volunteer security force were killed in Balochistan. Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said killings in the southeast of Iran. Killings took place in Sistan & Balochistan, bordering Pakistan.

Reports: The IRGC base in Saravan came under attack from insurgents. Slain were part of IRGC’s local forces: Baloch activists group.

Additional military was immediately dispatched to the region: IRGC. No group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack: local reports. The border region with Pakistan has in recent years witnessed clashes. In May, 5 Iranian guards were killed in clashes with armed insurgents. In April, senior Iran police officer was killed in southeastern province.

Killings in Iran after a train blast in Pakistan’s Quetta killed 25 people. The blast hit as passengers waited on a platform at the main railway station. In recent months there has been a rise in militant attacks in Pakistan. Balochistan insurgents have also targeted Chinese infra in Pakistan.
