Day after Secretary of State, Antony Blinken during a broadcast said, the authorities were working overtime to check reports about Americans killed in the deadly assault by Hamas in Israel, USA officials on October 9 confirmed that nine of its citizens lost their lives in the violence.
"At this time, we can confirm the deaths of nine US citizens," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.
"We can confirm that there are unaccounted for US citizens, and we are working with our Israeli partners to determine their whereabouts."
Notably, the USA is also trying to verify reports of several Americans taken hostage by Hamas. However, the numbers are still unclear.
