12-year-old Indian activist Licypriya Kangujam expelled from COP28

At COP28, which is happening in Dubai, 12-year-old Indian climate activist Licypriya Kangujam disrupted the proceedings as she rushed to the stage with a signboard that read, 'End fossil fuels. Save our planet and our future'

Kangujam who established The Child Movement at 6, informed through a post on X that she was detained for 30 minutes and has been expelled from the event. 

 

COP28 director-general Majid Al Suwaidi heaped praise on the 2019 World Children Peace Prize winner Kangujam. He said he admired the enthusiasm of young people at COP28 and also encouraged the audience to give Kangujam a round of applause.
