Researchers from the University of North Carolina have found that the nostrils are far more receptive to contracting the coronavirus than our throat and lungs.
The virus makes 1,000 times as many copies of itself in the nose compared to the lungs. The evidence suggests that the nose is the best breeding ground for the virus and should be our highest priority in protection.
Published in the scientific journal Cell, the research stressed the importance of wearing a mask that covers your nose to prevent infection.
