India is facing a major water crisis at the moment. More than 200 million people survive less than 40 litres of water per person every day. 46 million people have access only to contaminated water. Yet, the budget for the National Rural Drinking Water Program has been dwindling or rather reducing significantly since 2014.
While the previous goals to provide drinking water to every rural household in India is yet to be achieved, this election season political parties have already come up with newer strategies to solve this looming crisis.
