According to blog WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on updated privacy settings for both Android and iOS apps.
The update will allow users to select specific contacts, from whom they can hide their last seen timestamp, profile picture, and status.

Currently, users can either make these visible to everyone, all contacts, or nobody. WhatsApp already allows users to hide their story status from specific contacts.
The update is reportedly being tested internally for now, but should be available to beta users in a future update, before rolling out to everyone.̉
