Visa fees for those coming to the United Kingdom has been spiked, making both leisure and student travel more expensive for everyone.
The new fee for a 6-month tourist Visa will now be £15 more. Those seeking a student Visa will have to pay £490 after a £127 spike.
As of October 4, 2023, the 6-month Visa will now cost Indians nearly ₹11,500. The revised student Visa fees will be a hefty ₹50,000.
Family, settlement and citizenship visa fee will also be increased by 20%, the UK Home Office website says.
UK authorities said the Visa fee hike is supposed to “fund vital public services” and “contribute to public sector pay.”
