Al Shifa Hospital, the largest in Gaza, is no longer functioning. The pause in operations has ‘significantly’ spiked the fatalities in the hospital.
Infants wrapped in foil are being placed next to warm water to keep them alive as incubators ran out of oxygen supplies.
The hospital is also a makeshift shelter for thousands of civilians, staff and patients. People avoided the intense firefight outside.
Operating rooms have gone dark as electricity has been cut off. ‘Whoever needs surgery dies,’ a hospital official told CNN.
Those sheltering inside are forced to consume pipe water. Ambulance services are also choked as dozens of bodies are yet to be buried.
Al Shifa is not the only effected hospital. At least 20 of Gaza's 36 hospitals no longer functioning, as per UN’s humanitarian agency.
