TMC’s Mahua Moitra spoke to Lok Sabha’s 15-member Ethics Committee on Nov. 2. The panel took up Moitra’s ‘cash-for-query’ case.
The panel, appointed for one year, is headed by BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar for the term. Sonkar has represented UP’s Kaushambi since 2014.
In addition to Sonkar, the panel has 6 MPs from BJP and 3 from Congress. YSR Congress, Shiv Sena, JD-U, CPI-M and BSP have one member each.
Vishnu Datt Sharma, Sumedhanand Saraswati, Aparajita Sarangi, Dr Rajdeep Roy, Sunita Duggal and Dr Subhash Bhamre are on the panel.
The Congress has three MPs on the Lok Sabha ethics committee. These are Ve Vaithilingam, N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Preneet Kaur.
Other MPs are Balashowry Vallabbhaneni (YSR Congress), Hemant Godse (Shiv Sena), Giridhari Yadav (JD-U), P R Natarajan (CPI-M) and Kunwar Ali (BSP).
