Tomato prices dropped by 62% to ₹39 per kg in Sep, compared to ₹102 per kilogram in August

LPG cylinders also play a role

Factors contributing to the decline in thali costs included a reduction in the prices of LPG cylinders (₹903 in Sep compared to ₹1,103 in Aug)

Price of a non-veg thali

The cost of a non-vegetarian thali, which substitutes dal with chicken, decreased by 9% month-on-month in September

Chicken cost in non veg thali

A 2-3% increase in broiler prices offset further reductions in the cost of a non-veg thali, with chicken accounting for over 50% the total cost
