5 Steps to exchange Rs 2000 notes via post office

Have you missed the deadline to exchange Rs 2,000 note? RBI is still accepting them via post. Here's how you can do this.

Application

You will need to download the application from the RBI website.

Bank Account Detail

Fill out details such as: Name of account holder, account number, type of account, Bank name, Branch name/address & IFSC code on the application form

Use valid documents

Include a copy of one of the valid documents, a copy of your bank statement OR 1st page of passbook, and the ₹2,000 notes with the application form

Valid Documents

The list of documents include: Aadhaar card, Driving license, Voters ID, Passport, NREGA Card, PAN Card, ID card issued by govt departments

KYC Must

Once received, RBI will deposit the amount equivalent to the ₹2000 notes you've submitted, into your bank a/c, only if the a/c is fully KYC compliant

You can find the 19 RBI office addresses across the country on the RBI website. You can post your application to the RBI office closest to you.
