Soon After Avani Lekhara and Yogesh Kathuniya made India proud in Japan, celebrations erupted in their hometowns as families and friends of both the Paralympians danced and distributed sweets.

Kathuniya's family members, who were glued to the Television set, burst into celebrations as he won the silver medal for his country in the Discus Throw event at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020

His emotional mother, Meena Devi exclaimed with joy that the silver he won is gold for her. 

Avani Lakhera's elated grandfather, GR Lakhera too congratulated her and praised her. For me there can be no greater happiness than this, this is the result of her hard work, I hope she brings a gold medal in the 50m category also, he said.
