Vitamin C and Zinc, popularly believed to reduce symptoms of Covid-19, do not live upto the hype. According to a new study published in JAMA Network Open, these supplements are of no benefit to people isolating at home with Covid-19, not even at high doses.

As per the first randomized clinical trial of the two supplements, they did not reduce SARS-CoV-2 symptoms. The study was in fact so unimpressive, that it was stopped before time.

During the study, high doses of the supplements caused some unpleasant side-effects like nausea and stomach cramps.
