Valtteri Bottas' departure from Mercedes has been confirmed as he will make the switch to Alfa Romeo in 2022, after five seasons alongside Hamilton at the Silver Arrows.
In his time with the team he won 9 Grand Prix while claiming 17 pole positions as well. He also finished second twice in the world championship with his last race win being at the Russian Grand Prix in September 2020. As Bottas leaves Mercedes he paves way for the junior Mercedes driver George Russell, who has spent three years with Williams Racing.
Bottas will now replace Kimi Raikkonen as the 2007 world champion announced his retirement after the ongoing season of F1.
