After 3 days of rescue operations in Uttarakhand’s Tapovan, the NTPC on Wednesday evening notified the state government that labourers were trapped in a different tunnel than the one where rescue operations are currently on.

The rescue strategy has been changed as the location of the trapped workers is 12 meters below Intake Adit tunnel. The last known worksite of the labourers is a silt filtration tunnel.

With the ‘correct’ information in hand, a buffer area is being developed to reach the site and tunnel expert engineers have been called to assist.
