The US, Canada and Mexico signed the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement at the G-20 summit in Argentina on Friday. This new deal replaces NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement from the 1990s. The signing of the trade deal, however, is largely ceremonial, because it will still need to be ratified by all three nations before it takes effect formally.
