UP cops reject Priyanka Gandhi's allegations of manhandling

After Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that UP Police manhandled her in Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh police has issued a statement saying the charges are false. According to Kalanidhi Naithini, the SSP of Lucknow, the police officials assigned to Priyanka Gandhi stopped her convoy only to enquire why they were not going on the predecided route, concerns raised due to traffic and security reasons. According to the police, the Congress contingent refused to divulge details of their new destination. The UP Police has categorically stated that allegations of holding her by her neck, pushing her down and heckling are completely false.
