United States overtakes India in daily new Covid-19 cases, anti-vaxxers to blame?

As anti-vaccination sentiments continue to grow in the US, the country has now surpassed India in terms of daily new Covid-19 cases, registering over 52,000 fresh cases on Monday, according to a report in the Times of India.

Experts have recorded a 170% jump in fresh cases in the US, over the last 2 weeks alone, and are calling it the "pandemic of the unvaccinated." However the average death tally at 269 is still well below India's count.

The spike comes as the US eases mask mandates for fully vaccinated people, even as the Delta variant continues to spread.
