The United Nations has reportedly rejected an appeal by Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed, to remove his name from its list of banned terrorists. Mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, Saeed was banned by the UN Security Council in December 2008. The decision comes at a time when UN's Sanctions Committee received a new request to ban Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar after the Pulwama terror attack. Reports say Pakistan did not oppose Saeed's appeal despite claims by the Imran Khan government that it was taking action against the banned terror groups.
