Former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid who is currently in judicial custody, told a Delhi court during a hearing on Thursday that he is not being allowed to step out of his cell or meet anyone.
Khalid who has been arrested under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, in connection with the communal violence that took place in Northeast Delhi in February this year alleged solitary confinement.
Khalid also said that he has not been keeping well for the last few days and due to orders to keep him confined to the cell, he has been feeling both physical and mental discomfort.
The court has now summoned the jail superintendent and posted the matter for further hearing on Friday.
