Manchester City had to fight it out to kick start their Champions League campaign with a win as they bounced back from a goal down to beat Porto 3-1 on Wednesday night. The Portuguese club surprised City with a goal in the 14th minute but Sergio Aguero equalised soon after with his 40th Champions League goal as he successfully converted from the spot. Gundogan and substitute Ferran Torres too scored a goal each in the second-half, helping the Citizens secure all 3 points. City next take on Marseille in their second game in Group C on October 27.
