'Trespassed into polling booth': BJP seeks criminal case against Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti

After the single phase Tamil Nadu assembly election on April 6, the BJP has accused Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan’s daughter and actor Shruti Haasan of trespassing into a polling booth and filed a complaint against her. Kamal Haasan, after casting his vote in Chennai went to Coimbatore South, from where he is contesting the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The actor turned politician visited polling booths to take stock of the voting. Shruti was accompanying her father for booth visit.

BJP district president wrote to the district election officer demanding that criminal action be taken against actress Sruthi Haasan, citing

the rule that no one should go to the polling booths except the booth agents.
