After concluding his three-day Pakistan visit, Afghanistan’s top peace negotiator Abdullah Abdullah arrived in India on Tuesday to muster support for the Afghan peace process and strengthen regional consensus. During his five day India visit, he will hold talks on Afghan peace and bilateral relations between Afghanistan and India. He is scheduled to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the prime minister’s official residence on Thursday and external affairs minister S Jaishankar on Friday. Abdullah is also expected to interact with key members of India’s security setup, including National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Abdullah's visit comes at a time when the Afghanistan government and Taliban are trying to negotiate a deal in order to restore peace in the country.
