The 25-year-old was 2nd behind American Valarie Allman who threw 66.42m to top the group. Interestingly, Kamalpreet had a better day than the defending Gold Medalist Sandra Perkovic of Croatia and even the reigning World Champion Yaime Perez.

The athlete from Punjab is on fire and a medal can be expected from her as she has breached the 65m mark twice recently. The final will take place on Monday, 2nd August. Meanwhile, Seema Punia was way below her season and personal best marks and failed to qualify for the final.
