This city is the 'garlic capital' of the world!

Gilroy, short of San Jose in California, is the 'garlic capital' of the world. Ironically, only a very small % of garlic is actually grown here now. However, the garlic smell that envelops the city as soon as one enters, makes the name quite appropriate. There is constant use of imagery like walls with garlic paintings, amusement parks with garlic shaped rides, cafe names with garlic preceding them, residential complexes named after the crop and so on. The major ingredient used in food is garlic and if that is not all, they also offer a garlic flavored beer and garlic ice cream. With advancements, the city fears becoming a 'commuter city' and losing its fervour as the garlic capital.
