This blood type may protect you against malaria

Malaria is one of the most deadly diseases and claims thousands of lives each year. According to a recent analysis of 23 papers, those who have the blood type O are protected against the disease compared to other blood groups. The study showed that severe malaria was more likely to occur in individuals with non-O blood groups. The study, published in the journal Blood Reviews, suggests that the transfusion of type O blood to those suffering from malaria may halt the progression of the disease.
