Meet the 'Water Saviour of Mumbai' who also founded an NGO called Mission GreenIndia, as he does all it takes to save water in the city. As the city battles with intense rainfall and water shortage at the same time, Subhajit Mukherjee has found a cost-effective solution to harvest rainwater and recharge groundwater. Targeting schools across the city, he invented a method, where the ground is dug 3 feet deep. A drum with holes, is installed into the pit and the terrace water is then connected to the drum. He has currently installed the system in 33 schools across Mumbai, and has also planted many trees in the city.
