Many Indian cricketers stood by Mohammed Shami after he received hate messages following India's defeat vs Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. And support now has also come from across the border.

Mohammad Rizwan, who was one of the stars for Pakistan in their famous win, urged fans to respect their stars and wrote that the game should bring people together and not divide them. The kind of pressure, struggles & sacrifices a player has to go through for his country & his people is immeasurable. Shami is a star & indeed one of the best bowlers in the world, Rizwan wrote in a strongly worded tweet.

Many Indian cricketers including Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal had come outin Shami's defence after the pacer was trolled for India's loss.
