The Budapest Zoo has a new member

A rare, golden-bellied Mangabey has been born at the Budapest Zoo. The newborn monkey's gender has not been revealed yet. There are only 27 golden-bellied mangabeys in 12 zoos across the world. The ancestors of the infant's father are from zoos in the United States while those of the mother are from European zoos. The baby will thus contribute to the preservation of genetic diversity.
