The Blue Tigers defend well but slump to a 1-0 loss to Qatar

The Blue Tigers lost to Asian Champions Qatar 1-0 in their World Cup qualifying round match in Doha on Thursday. The team led by Sunil Chhetri were reduced to 10-men after Rahul Bheke was sent the marching orders early in the 17th min. The team conceded a goal soon as Abdel Aziz scored at the half an hour mark. India then defended with a big heart as Qatar kept pounding with attempts which were saved by stopper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. The scoreline remained the same at 1-0 as the 2nd half saw some pretty good defending by the visitors. Without a win, India remains 4th in Group E with 3 points from 6 games. Igor Stimac's team next play Bangladesh on 7th June.
