Amidst the demands of his resignation by students, Thailand's prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said that there were no plans to extend a state of emergency outside the capital. Police, however, indicated they were working to censor coverage of the student-led demonstrations.

The government has already issued a decree that bans public gatherings of more than four people in Bangkok. However, the move could not stop the students from protesting on the streets.
