Telgi acquitted in fake stamp paper scam case

A court in Maharashtra has acquitted Abdul Karim Telgi and others accused in the multi-crore paper stamp scam case. Charges against Telgi, who is considered to be the kingpin behind the fake stamp scam, were dropped after his death last year. In 2007, Telgi was sentenced to 30 years in prison and he died in Bengaluru in October last year while still serving his jail term.
