Xiaomi is expanding its smart home ambitions in India with the introduction of its Mijia brand, and it is starting with a category that makes plenty of sense for the Indian market: air purifiers.
The company has launched the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact as the first Mijia products in India. Alongside the two new models, Xiaomi is also bringing back the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite, which was originally launched in the country in 2023.
Together, the three models cover a fairly wide range of requirements and budgets. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is the most affordable of the lot at ₹7,999 and is aimed primarily at bedrooms and smaller spaces. The returning Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite sits in the middle at ₹12,999, while the more powerful Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 costs ₹19,999 and targets considerably larger rooms.
All three air purifiers will go on sale in India from September 2, 2026.
Sitting at the top of Xiaomi's new lineup is the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6. It is designed for larger spaces and offers coverage of up to 940 sq. ft., based on two air changes per hour.
It has a Particle CADR of 443 cubic metres per hour and a Formaldehyde CADR of 218 cubic metres per hour. Xiaomi claims the purifier can clean the air in a 108 sq. ft. room in around 3.5 minutes under its testing conditions.
The Air Purifier 6 uses Xiaomi's five-stage PentaClean filtration system, combining particle filtration and activated carbon with UV-C light and negative-ion technology. It is designed to tackle common pollutants including dust, pollen, smoke and pet dander, as well as gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde.
There is also a colour display that provides real-time readings for PM2.5 and PM1 levels, along with temperature and humidity. Sleep Mode brings operating noise down to around 32dB(A).
At ₹7,999, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is the entry point into Xiaomi's new Mijia lineup. As the name suggests, this one is designed for smaller spaces such as bedrooms, children's rooms and studies, with Xiaomi claiming coverage of more than 400 sq. ft.
It uses a 3-in-1 filtration system capable of capturing 99.97 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust, pollen, smoke, pet hair and pet dander. It also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification.
The purifier weighs just 2.2kg, making it relatively easy to move between rooms or place on a desk or side table. Its Sleep Mode operates at a claimed 20dB and switches off the display, while a four-colour indicator provides a quick look at current air quality.
Both new Mijia models work with the Xiaomi Home app for remote controls, scheduling and air-quality monitoring, and also support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Xiaomi is also bringing back the Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite, which slots between the two new Mijia models at ₹12,999.
It offers a Particle CADR of up to 360 cubic metres per hour and is designed for rooms measuring between 269 and 463 sq. ft. The purifier uses a three-layer filtration system consisting of a primary filter, a high-efficiency filter and activated carbon, and also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification.
The Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite offers real-time air-quality monitoring through the Xiaomi Home app, while its Night Mode operates at a claimed 33.4dB(A).
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact and Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite will be available from September 2 through Xiaomi's website, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Xiaomi Retail and Xiaomi Exclusive stores.
