According to a recent report from WaBetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp version 2.23.5.12 for Android includes enhancements to a feature introduced in December 2022. This feature replaces phone numbers with names in group chat messages making it easier to identify unknown contacts in group chats.

The iOS beta testers can also use this feature by updating to the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.0.73. However, the report notes that currently, only certain beta testers who download the latest WhatsApp beta updates for Android from the Play Store have access to this feature. Nonetheless, it is expected to become available to a wider audience in the near future.
