Truecaller to roll out spam call identification on WhatsApp soon

Truecaller has announced that it will soon make its spam call identification feature available over WhatsApp and other messaging apps. The feature is currently in the beta phase and will be globally rolled out later in May. The move comes in response to a surge in spam calls over internet-based platforms such as WhatsApp in countries like India. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has directed carriers to block telemarketing calls over their networks using artificial intelligence filters. Truecaller is in talks with telecom operators to implement a similar solution.
